The Heart Sutra is one of the shortest Buddhist scriptures, yet it is greatly influential because it contains the essential teachings of the Buddha, connecting the path of liberation for oneself, to the path of awakening others.

The Dharma talks will be uploaded, in sequence, for all students to view at any time. Everyone may sign up for the course in either of two participation levels: full participation and causal participation.

Full participants will gain the most benefits as Shifu guides you in learning, contemplating, and applying the wisdom from the Sutra. Every two weeks, students are expected to watch designated Dharma talks, turn in a minimum number of required homework questions, participate in a small group discussion with peers, send questions to Shifu, and join an online Q&A session with Jianhu Shifu.

Casual participants have access to all the class materials, may join the online Q&A sessions, but are not required to do homework and there is no group discussion.
